5,957 New HUD-Code Homes Shipped in November 2015

In November 2015, 5,957 new manufactured homes were shipped, an increase of 20.3 percent from November 2014. Compared with the same month last year, there were increases across the board, with single section home shipments up 17.0 percent and multi-section shipments up 23.3 percent. Total floors shipped in November 2015 were 9,236, an increase of 21.0 percent compared with November 2014.

Compared with the prior year, 2015 recorded shipment increases in all eleven months of the year. Shipments from January through November this year totaled 64,822 homes compared with 59,614 homes in 2014, a net increase of 8.7 percent.

The seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of shipments was 74,147 in November 2015, up 5.7 percent from the adjusted rate of 70,153 in October 2015. The SAAR corrects for normal seasonal variations and projects annual shipments based on the current monthly total.

The number of plants reporting production in November 2015 was 122 and the number of active corporations was 37, both unchanged from the previous month’s numbers.
