About Political Action Committee

|
MANUFACTURED HOUSING INSTITUTE (PAC) An essential element to the success of any national trade association’s lobbying efforts is the political arm of the association. MHI-PAC is the Political Action Committee (PAC) of the Manufactured Housing Institute. It provides financial assistance to political candidates who support a sound pro-business philosophy and responsible positions on issues of concern to our industry. The MHI-PAC is bi-partisan, contributing to both Democratic and Republican candidates in the U. S. House and Senate who understand and support the Manufactured Housing Institute’s agenda.
WHY DO WE NEED A PAC? The PAC funds allow individuals supportive of the industry to join forces with peers and back candidates who champion the issues critical to MHI’s members. Thanks to hundreds and hundreds of our members nationwide, MHI-PAC is working to help the Manufactured Housing Institute make the case for our industry on a daily basis. There is strength in numbers.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CONTRIBUTING? With your contribution, you are helping to elect pro-industry candidates to the United States Congress and actively increase the Manufactured Housing Institute’s political presence on Capitol Hill. Your support continues to help MHI demonstrate the enormous value we bring to our local communities, as well as strengthen our stance on critical legislative issues in Washington.
WHAT IS A PRIOR APPROVAL SOLICITATION FORM? Under Federal Election Commission regulations, MHI-PAC must receive “prior approval” before soliciting political contributions from the Manufactured Housing Institute’s members or “special member” category. This permission is granted by the chief executive officer of each member company. By signing the “Prior Approval Card”, the CEO designates MHI-PAC as the sole political action committee (PAC) authorized to solicit their employees. A company may withdraw its authorization at any time.
