The HUD proposed rule to implement the Secure and Fair Enforcement Mortgage Licensing (SAFE) Act was published in today's Federal Register. The rule can be accessed here (Proposed Rule).

MHI is currently analzying the details of the proposed rule, and will be communicating the results of the analysis to members. There will be a 60-day comment period starting upon date of publication in the Federal Register. MHI plans to submit comments on behalf of the industry as well as meet with HUD to address concerns we have regarding the implementation of the SAFE Act.
