In light of recent news and articles circulating poor information and inaccurate data, MHI reaffirms its positive outlook on the manufactured housing industry. As MHI reported earlier this year in its December Monthly Economic Report, industry production stabilized between 2009 and 2010 with a slight .5% increase year-over-year. In addition, between 2009 and 2010 manufactured housing increased market share in the overall single-family housing market.
Demographics and housing trends point towards increased demand in manufactured housing long term. MHI is proud to represent an industry which provides quality housing to millions of Americans, and is confident that with decreasing unemployment and increasing consumer confidence, the industry is strongly positioned to overcome challenges in the short term. Our success, however, hinges on the industry to collectively work together to achieve a positive outcome.
