Can you give us a brief profile of your company?

Green Courte Partners, LLC is a Chicago-based private equity firm targeting niche real estate sectors, including manufactured housing communities and parking assets. The company’s goal is to generate attractive, risk-adjusted returns over a longer-term holding period. Green Courte seeks to invest through joint ventures with operating partners.

Can you tell us a bit about your background?

From 1989 to 1994, I served as Co-Chairman and CEO of Manufactured Home Communities (MHC-NYSE). From 1997 to 2002, I served as chairman of Hometown America.

What is your company philosophy?

To invest long-term with great operating partners.

What are you most proud of about your company?

The professionals who comprise the Green Courte Partners team.

What are some of the challenges currently facing your company?

Prioritizing which transaction opportunities to focus on.

What do you see as the most pressing issues facing manufactured home communities today?

As an industry, we need to convert from annual leases to long-term leases to enable our residents to finance their homes and to stabilize the long-term relationship between owner and resident.

Can you name someone in the industry that you admire and why?

George Allen – he has given his heart and soul to this industry for over 20 years.

Who are your personal heroes?

My wife and parents.

Can you tell us something about yourself that people may find surprising?

I used to book rock bands back in college. “Rock N Roll will never die!”
