Equity LifeStyle Properties (ELS) owns and operates 275 quality communities in 25 states and British Columbia, combined for a total of more than 100,000 sites. Throughout this period ELS has been committed to the industry, improving service levels to its customers and elevating the reputation of manufactured housing overall. It is dedicated to provide to the industry and its customers’ high quality affordable homes within communities situated in many of the country’s most desirable locations.

Recognizing that the expectations of today’s homebuyer have changed dramatically over the years, ELS continuously works with home manufacturers to incorporate the appointments sought by today’s homebuyer. Some of the improvements in home design include architectural accents, entrance dormers and porches, gabled shingle roofs, decorative carport columns, upgraded landscape packages, as well as increased square footage and greater capacity to accommodate the technology needs of home office equipment and home entertainment centers. These improved design standards are in addition to some of its most requested interior options, including designer kitchens, luxurious master bedrooms and bathrooms, split floor plans and screened porches.

ELS’s portfolio includes communities located in desirable destinations in both urban and resort-like settings. Strong, vibrant communities are an ELS hallmark. The amenities package and community events offered at its communities are comparable to the most successful retirement developments, such as Sun City. With a strong commitment to meeting the needs of the upcoming Baby Boomer population, it has enhanced many community amenities, including redesigned exercise facilities, new financial centers offering high speed Internet access and improved clubhouses and pool areas. In addition, many of its communities are hosting events, including concerts, golf tournaments, tennis tournaments, financial seminars, health fairs, and local outings to sporting events, comedy shows and Broadway productions.

ELS’s participation in several trade shows over the past few years has been beneficial in providing information on manufactured housing to customers who may not have previously considered manufactured housing as an option. In 2004, ELS participated in the Great North American RV Rally and the AARP National Convention in Las Vegas. The reception by many customers was most positive, with a number of them admitting that they could not believe how manufactured homes have changed over the years. ELS recognizes the continued need to educate today’s consumer on all the benefits of manufactured housing and is committed to this education process.

ELS actively supports the operation of MHI’s National Communities Council and has been very active since its inception and also participates in MHI programs, task force membership and leadership, especially in recent years with new member recruitment, PAC contributions and program sponsorship at MHI meetings. It also participates in state associations and state boards.
