6,073 New HUD-Code Homes Shipped in July 2015

In July 2015, 6,073 new manufactured homes were shipped, an increase of 6.7 percent from July 2014. Compared with the same month last year, single section home shipments were down 2.9 percent while shipments of multi-section homes were up 16.6 percent. Total floors shipped in July 2015 were 9,406 an increase of 10.0 percent compared with July 2014.

Compared with the prior year, 2015 recorded shipment increases in the first seven months of the year. Shipments from January through July this year totaled 39,375 homes compared with 36,348 homes in 2014, a net increase of 8.3 percent.

The seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of shipments was 76,279 in July 2015, up 14.5 percent from the adjusted rate of 66,633 in June 2015. The SAAR corrects for normal seasonal variations and projects annual shipments based on the current monthly total.

The number of plants reporting production in July 2015 was 122 and the number of active corporations was 37, both increased by one from the previous month’s number.
