Cavco Industries, Inc. announced a significant innovation in the manufactured home industry with the launch of the “Anthem,” the first nationally available, manufactured duplex approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

This approval comes after the first comprehensive update to the HUD code in over a decade, a direct result of MHI’s advocacy efforts.

The update allows duplexes such as the Anthem series, and marks a significant advancement in providing affordable housing.

Cavco released the homes at a launch event on December 12 in Rocky Mount, VA, where Cavco executives (including Cavco CEO and MHI Chairman Bill Boor), Samuel Landy, President and Chief Executive Officer of UMH Properties, Inc., Chris McNamara, Strategic Housing Officer Virginia Housing, Randy Grumbine, Executive Director Virginia Manufactured and Modular Housing Association, and Lesli Gooch, MHI CEO remarked on this series of homes practical solution for the rapid expansion of affordable housing options that easily adapts to communities, as well as urban infill.
