Nearly 200 manufactured housing industry leaders gathered in Carlsbad for the MHI Annual Meeting. During the meeting, members discussed how to increase the manufactured home share of new single-family home starts and grow support for the for-profit land-lease communities model.
In addition to conducting the business of the association, members had the opportunity to network with fellow industry leaders and tour the Lanikai Lane manufactured home community. Special thanks to Shane Joffe of J&H Property Management for hosting the community tour.

MHI Economic Report: November Data Released
Manufactured housing production in November 2025 fell 16.2% year-over-year and fell 0.3% year-to-date. Single-section shipments declined 4.6% year-to-date, while multi-section shipments rose 3.0%.
House Moves to Reinstate HUD as Sole Regulator for Manufactured Housing
The House Rules Committee met Tuesday, Jan. 6 and voted to bring H.R. 5184, the Affordable HOMES Act, to the House floor with one hour of debate and one motion to recommit. A simple majority would be needed for passage and a vote by the House of Representatives is expected later this week.
