According to MHI’s March 2026 Economic Report, manufactured housing production declined in March 2026, falling 2.3% year-over-year and 9.0% year-to-date. Shipment data reflects similar softness, with single-section homes down 13.1% and multi-section homes down 6.0% year-to-date. The seasonally adjusted annual rate of shipments reached 100,540, a 5.2% decrease from 2025 levels.

Regional performance was mixed, with four of nine divisions posting gains, led by the West North Central region. The industry currently includes 33 manufacturers operating 147 plants. Manufactured housing accounted for 9.0% of single-family home starts in March.
