MHI’s 2026 Annual Meeting brought members from across the manufactured housing industry together in Washington, D.C., for three days of advocacy, education and direct engagement with policymakers. From policy discussions and educational sessions to high-level meetings across Washington, the event gave members multiple opportunities to advance the industry’s priorities and strengthen relationships with decision-makers.

At the center of the week was MHI’s Homes on the Hill on the National Mall, held in conjunction with HUD’s Innovative Housing Showcase(opens in new tab). Three cutting-edge manufactured homes gave visitors a firsthand look at how the industry is expanding what attainable homeownership can look like. The display included a two-story manufactured home with a chassis-free second floor, a ranch-style manufactured home featuring numerous in-demand features that expand perceptions of what manufactured housing can offer and a revolutionary chassis-free design(opens in new tab) demonstrating new possibilities in factory-built housing.

Dozens of senators, members of Congress, administration officials, state of

ficials and housing policy leaders walked through the homes and had the opportunity to experience modern manufactured housing up close and personal. For many, it was an opportunity to move beyond outdated perceptions and see firsthand the quality, design and innovation possible with today’s manufactured homes.

That experience gave policymakers something that fact sheets and presentations alone cannot provide. It offered the chance to step inside the homes, see the construction for themselves and talk directly with the people who build, finance, operate and support manufactured housing across the country.

The week also took MHI members directly into some of Washington’s most historic policymaking spaces. MHI leadership and members participated in White House briefings in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building’s historic Indian Treaty Room, sharing the industry’s perspective on expanding housing supply and attainable homeownership.

On Capitol Hill, MHI convened an important policy luncheon in the historic Cannon Caucus Room, bringing together members of the industry, congressional leaders and housing policymakers. Together, participants explored how manufactured housing can help address America’s housing challenges in diverse settings.

The Annual Meeting itself featured numerous education panels, industry discussions and member meetings. Members exchanged ideas, heard from experts and policymakers and continued the conversations that will help guide MHI’s work in the coming year.

Together, these events demonstrated the value of bringing MHI’s Annual Meeting to Washington and pairing it with Homes on the Hill. Members did more than talk about manufactured housing. They put three innovative homes directly in front of policymakers, brought industry leaders into the policymaking process and created opportunities for conversations that could not happen anywhere else.

The result was a powerful national platform for manufactured housing. The week strengthened relationships, enhanced understanding of manufactured housing and reinforced the industry’s role in meeting America’s need for more attainable homeownership. Now the work continues to turn that enthusiasm into impact.
