The Senate confirmed several senior leaders at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) last week.

“These individuals have already been doing the work – delivering results, strengthening accountability, and advancing HUD’s mission,” said HUD Secretary Scott Turner. “Their Senate confirmation continues to build our outstanding team. These nominees are focused on supporting housing opportunities and improving affordability for the American people. I am proud to have such dedicated and experienced professionals supporting President Trump’s agenda at HUD.”

Federal Housing Administration (FHA)

The Senate confirmed Frank Cassidy as Assistant Secretary for Housing and Federal Housing Commissioner. Cassidy leads HUD’s Office of Housing and oversees FHA’s Single Family, Multifamily and Healthcare mortgage insurance programs.

Government National Mortgage Association (Ginnie Mae)

The Senate confirmed Joseph Gormley as President of Ginnie Mae, where he connects the U.S. housing market with global capital markets, helping to provide low-cost financing for federal housing programs.

Public and Indian Housing (PIH)

The Senate confirmed Benjamin Hobbs as Assistant Secretary for PIH, overseeing affordable housing programs for low-income families, senior citizens, disabled Americans and Native Americans, including public housing and Housing Choice Vouchers.

Community Planning and Development (CPD)

The Senate confirmed Ronald Kurtz as Assistant Secretary for CPD, overseeing HUD grant programs addressing homelessness, affordable housing, disaster recovery and community development.

Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO)

The Senate confirmed Craig Trainor as Assistant Secretary for FHEO, responsible for enforcing civil rights in housing, administering the Fair Housing Act, and overseeing investigations of housing discrimination complaints.

The Senate also confirmed Benjamin DeMarzo as Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations (CIR) and David Woll as General Counsel at HUD.
