Government Shutdown Ends

President Trump signed a bill to fund the government on Wednesday night, ending a 43 day government shutdown.

While many functions of the Office of Manufactured Housing Programs stopped during the shutdown, the HUD Labeling Program, which ensures manufactured homes meet federal standards, continued because it is funded by label fees, as opposed to taxpayer dollars.

MHI Outlines Key Ways Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Should Be Serving Manufactured Housing

The Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) has submitted two formal comment letters to U.S. Federal Housing (FHFA) Director Bill Pulte about how Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should increase their support for manufactured housing. In the two formal comment letters responding to a proposed rule on Enterprise Housing Goals for 2026–2028 and the regulator’s strategic plan for Fiscal Years 2026–2030, MHI urged that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac explicitly prioritize manufactured housing.
