UMH Properties, Inc., which was organized in 1968, is a public equity REIT that owns and operates 135 manufactured home communities with approximately 25,800 developed homesites. These communities are located in New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Alabama, South Carolina and Georgia. UMH also owns and operates two communities in Florida, containing 363 sites, through its joint venture with Nuveen Real Estate. UMH Properties, Inc. has contributed to the overall well-being of the industry by promoting manufactured housing to the investment community, government sponsored entities (GSEs), government officials, and to the general public. Virginia Governor Signs Bill Removing Zoning Barriers to Manufactured Housing
Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger visited Cavco’s Rocky Mount manufacturing facility on June 1 to sign bipartisan housing legislation aimed at lowering housing costs and expanding homeownership opportunities across Virginia. During her visit, the governor toured the plant, met with industry leaders and homeowners, and discussed the role manufactured housing can have in addressing the state’s housing shortage.
