The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) requires many companies doing business in the United States to report information about who ultimately owns or controls them to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). Most companies must report this information to FinCEN on or before January 1, 2025. Failure to report before the deadline could result in penalties.

FinCEN’s website hosts a wide range of resources for companies regarding filing the beneficial ownership information, including a series of nationwide Public Service Announcements (PSAs).
