The Community Impact Project of the Year Award recognizes efforts by the manufactured housing industry to improve lives by addressing social or economic challenges at a local level. In 2023, Monmouth Mobile Home Park had a multi-faceted program to improve lives on the local level.

The three main areas of focus for 2023:

  1. Helping Park residents with food insecurity

The focus was on residents facing food insecurity access to free fresh produce and other food items. Monmouth Mobile Home Park provided fresh produce from a large garden planted and maintained by the staff (provided over 2,000 items). Monmouth provided other fresh and shelf stable foods through their own food bank and partnered with the local food pantry to setup up days where families could pick up bags of groceries from their rec room.

  1. Provide no cost adult and youth education programs aimed to provide greater opportunity

Monmouth partnered with the local library to host adult education classes in their rec room in English and Spanish to teach basic tech skills that can be used to search and apply for jobs. They worked with the local Senior Center to hold tech classes for seniors to teach them basic tech skills to navigate the changing tech landscape. Monmouth partnered with the library to host a mobile Book Mobile to provide books and educational materials in their park to children and adults. They partnered with the library to host family friendly story readings and arts & crafts for children in their Park.

  1. Support local events that positively impact the community.

Monmouth donated their mobile stage, including setup to host several free concerts for families in town and for the towns, nationally recognized ‘National Night Out Program’. These programs gave families free constructive activities. Monmouth sponsored Women Aware (local domestic violence organization) road race to showcase programs for women facing domestic violence. They brought 20 local children identified as coming from families in need of support on a holiday shopping spree at a local store.
